Establish immediate changes to better meet the needs of Jefferson County residents and promote education, healthy lifestyle choices, social equity, and economic self-sufficiency, especially among our underprivileged youth.
-
Launch targeted innovations and pilot projects to test exciting ideas.
-
Respond to the community's desire to have a family-oriented programming center that provides a venue of opportunity and hope to individuals who reside in the communities and neighborhoods within the Ohio Valley.
WHO WE ARE
The Sycamore Corps are a group of at-risk middle to high school students of varying demographics. They have positive peer pressure to help each other through their similar struggles in life. As they help in community service, life skills lessons, and other entrepreneurial learning events, they see a new positive pathway that life can bring them through their efforts. They reinforce in each other a good work ethic, the values of stewardship, a desire for education, and the ultimate goal of becoming a good standing member of society that will themselves give back to the community and raise their own families in the same manner.
SYCAMORE CORPS GOALS
The ultimate goal
of the
Sycamore Corps
is to have students eventually leave either enrolled, enlisted, or employed!

"It is my passion to work with youth and provide an opportunity for them to be in a positive and uplifting environment in which they will thrive by cultivating their gifts and talents. The Sycamore Center was a dream of mine to provide that to students. That dream has finally become a reality and I cannot wait to see what is in store for our youth in the future!"
